Controls

Controls is an element in graphical user interface that displays information and is changeable by a user.

Contextual tabs

Contextual tab is when you click a picture or chart and a tab shows up in the top of the ribbon.

context sensitive

context sensitive is when different behavior id controlled depending on the solution or task.

conditional formatting

Conditional formatting is a method of changing cells in excel that id based on its value.

compatibilty mode

Compatibility mode is a software or feature in a computer that can help the computer run older versions of software or open older version of documents.

Comparis

Comparis is a grid that compares information of usually 2 things.

Comment

Comment is information that people like designers can add for their reference.

A column chart is a chart that displays data in vertical bars.

A clustered column chart displays values and other data in a 2-d or 3-d view.

Close button

A close button is a red button on the upper left in windows that close the current window.

A clipboard is a tab in word that has options to paste something.

Clip art

Clip art is graphical art that helps decorate a document(clip art is a picture format).

Citation

A citation is a format in some websites that help you gather up information in a nice neat order.

Circular reference

Circular reference is a loop made up of series of references.

Center

A center is like the middle of an object or region.

Cell address

A cell address is like a combination of a row and column that go to a specific cell.

Cell

Cell is in programs like excel and are tiny boxes where information is inputed.

Cash flow analysis

Cash flow analysis is the study of business cycles that usually show the rate of money(cash).

Bulleted list

A bulleted list is a list of things like a to-do list that also have bullet points in front of them.

Bullet points are are small dots that are before phrases and are helpful to create a list.

Lab3 wordart Raheel Siddiqui

  In word art you can change the style of word. the first thing i did was type my name in blogger and than i went to the insert tab on the ribbon, selected word art and selected the design that i wanted. next i went to word art styles and selected the rainbow. i clicked folow path and selected the circle design. then i went to 3-d effects and selected rotate in perspective. Then i went to shadoow effects and selected perspective shadow. Next i went ot he bucket and selected the color that i wanted. then i copied and pasted to power point and saved as a JPEG file so it is a image and then i uploaded it to blogger.

Application Software are applications that allow the users to perform a certain task.

Animation is an amount of images that are usually 3-d or 2-d and are needed in order to allow illusion of movement.

Anchor

Anchor allows the user to fix graphical settings so that text and images for example are grouped together.

American Psychological Association(APA)

Is a way of citating a website or book of where the information was received from.

LAB2 Common Skills

1) when you press Alt + Tab a little menu shows up in the middle of the screen that allows you to switch between applications.
2) to change the font you go to the font tab, click the first box and select the font. to change the font size you click the box next to it and select the font size. To do bullet points you go to the paragraph tab and click the bullets box. To change the line spacing you go to the paragraph tab and click the small box with arrows going up and down called "line spacing."  To change the view go to the view tab and go to the show/hide tab and check the boxes.
3) Microsoft word and powerpoint are different because in order to change the columns in powerpoint, the option is located in the paragraph tab.

A 3-d piechart is a image that is a circular shape that displays data and looks like a real image. it pops out at the person looking at it.
